Tasks of Projects’ Directorate

  1. Studying projects that the Ministry wanted to implement by means of setting up designs and plans required as well as preparing its tender’s documents and conditions in addition to project’s required specifications.
  2. Supervising the implementation of tourist projects and assuring its compliance with technical conditions and specifications as well as specified plans.
  3. Performing necessary maintenance works for all tourist sites as well as maintenance of Ministry’s buildings and constructions.
  4. Cooperating with Ministries and Departments for constructing tourist projects and buildings.
  5. Coordinating with local and international parties in developing some tourist sites.
  6. Participating in different committees.
  7. Following up the works of consulting offices.


Tasks of Second Tourist Project’s Unit

  1. Managing the project and supervising all concerned parties in this project.
  2. Full engineering supervision over all subordinated projects.
  3. Preparing the documents of tenders, technical studies and works.
  4. Full management of project’s financial aspects.
  5. Preparing periodical reports and present them to all concerned parties as well as the World Bank.
  6. Studying economic feasibility for all subordinated projects.
  7. Prepare, supervise and follow up time schedule for all projects.
  8. Providing technical and technological assistance for the Ministry if required.

Tasks of Public Relations Directorate

  1. Receiving Ministries visitors and provide services for them.
  2. Participate in preparing seminars and festivals.
  3. Prepare and organize schedules for official delegates and experts as well as supervise all procedures related to services.
  4. Participate in preparing for seminars, festivals and exhibitions.
  5. Escorting Ministry’s guests to tourist sites.
  6. Escorting television media delegates.
  7. Distributing brochures.
  8. Information
  9. Providing information for tourists.


Tasks of Tourist Media and Promotion directorate

  1. Follow up what is published and broadcasted about tourism and Ministry’s activities in Media and prepare initiative responses.
  2. Provide facilitations and organize meetings, journalistic and media interviews for TV stations as well as local and international newspapers.
  3. Enhance and expand communication channels as well as strengthening relations and cooperation with both local and international media and journalistic institutions.
  4. Conduct all kinds of communications (both locally and internationally) in order to introduce the Ministry’s role in all aspects.
  5. Follow up the documentation of Ministry’s necessary information and data.
  6. Expand all efforts to use all tourist media methods to promote tourism.
  7. Study quotations of publishing advertisements as well as purchase publications and books for the Ministry.
  8. Coordinate with articles’ and researches’ authors in case of any lack of information provided for publish or in case of any error.
  9. Publish a tourist periodical about Ministry’s activities as well as issues and challenges that face tourist sector.
  10. Present proposals for producing various kinds of tourist media.
  11. Cooperate with local and international organizations in implementing media and promotional programs for Jordan.



Tasks of Internal Monitoring Directorate

  1. Study, verify and evaluate all aspects of activities in terms of safety and correctness of transactions and financial dealings.
  2. Verify and assure that resources were collected on times and duly filed in registers as well as assure it is used as planned.
  3. Verify and assure the correctness of registers, documents, and files.
  4. Evaluate administrative decisions to assure its compliance with in force legislations.
  5. Evaluate performance in all aspects of work.
  6. Recommend of cancellation or modify all hindrances to effective performance and audit.
  7. Participate in committee’s works upon assignment from directorate’s related authority.
  8. Make sure all possible means are available for the safety of production elements involved as well as maintain, protect and preserve it.


Tasks of Tourist Professions’ Directorate

  1. Licensing tourist professions and classify it in accordance to the provisions of Tourist Law and its regulations, as well as supervising on it for the purpose of organizing and developing it to enhance the level of services provided for tourists.
  2. Detect current developments on events and professions (locally and internationally) in order to improve the level of tourist professions.
  3. Set up legislative and organizational frame for tourist events and professions in accordance to current developments in local market.
  4. Control and activate Tourism Law as well as all regulations issued in accordance to it.
  5. Control the quality of tourist constructions in compliance with the specified classification fundamentals.
  6. Offer facilitations and recommendations for tourist constructions.
  7. Prepare studies and necessary regulations for organizing work in accordance to the in force regulations.
  8. Update regulations in accordance to current developments on Tourist Industry.



Tasks of Information & Statistics Directorate

  1. Collect, enter and categorize tourist statistics.
  2. Follow up local and international statistics related to Tourist Industry.
  3. Coordinate with local and international organizations.
  4. Collect quantitative and qualitative statistical information on Tourism, Volume of Tourist Income & Expenditures, Tourist nights, and Occupancy rates and organize them in tables for documentation.
  5. Publish statistical bulletins (monthly / annually) to reflect the mobility of Jordanian Tourism.
  6. Develop Statistical Tourist Studies in accordance to the new scientific methods
  7. Provide researchers and scholars with required statistical information.



Tasks of Quality Control & Monitoring Directorate

  1. Raise the level of services to the required level under the light of global competition.
  2. Field inspection visits to the tourist constructions to assure it is maintaining its level of facilities and services provided in accordance to its classification grade.
  3. Receive citizens’ and visitors’ complaints against any tourist construction and take necessary actions to restore rights and to insure that violations will not be repeated.
  4. Determine in conflicts that might arise between tourist constructions in accordance to the regulations and rules issued by the Law.



Tasks of Tourist Sites and Parks Development Directorate

  1. Determine tourist and Archaeological sites that have tourist attraction.
  2. Determine tourist and Archaeological sites that could be developed to become tourist-attracting points.
  3. Prepare plans for developing tourist-attracting sites.
  4. Prepare referential rules (Master Plan) for each site for development.
  5. Coordinate with all official and un-official parties related to tourist-development of these sites.
  6. Determine necessary basis for the developed sites’ tenders for investment by private sector for the purpose of supervise and monitor the site management.
  7. Evaluate investment proposals for investment in sites and parks in cooperation with specialized parties.
  8. Cooperate and coordinate with all departments, sections and directorates of the Ministry of Tourism and the Directorate of Public Antiquities to implement the proposed plans.
  9. Provide information to concerned parties by means of preparing Tourist marketing and promoting materials.



Tasks of Administrative Development and Training Unit

  1. Study the organizational structure and work with the higher administration to develop and activate it in accordance to circumstances.
  2. Follow up with developments in preparing Ministry’s Organizing System. 
  3. Preparing integrated job description for jobs to enhance the institutionalization and reduce duality. 
  4. Determine training needs in accordance to work requirements and follow up trainees’ affairs.
  5. Prepare basis of organizing work methods through simplifying and clarifying work procedures. 
  6. Contact and coordinate with governmental offices directly concerned in administrative development and cooperate with it to implement development programs. 
  7. Prepare different organizational manuals related to work procedures and Organizational Manual of the Ministry. 
  8. Prepare list of trained employees at the Ministry as well as their specializations. 
  9. Invest tourist and cultural agreements with friend and brother states, especially those related to tourism in order to create training opportunities. 
  10. Allocate funds required to cover training requirements. 


 

Tasks of Special Office

  1. Facilitate the task of higher administration in decision-making by collecting information and proof reading documents as well as assuring the completeness of various procedures.
  2. Facilitate communication channels and information flow.
  3. Save time and effort for higher administration.
  4. Reply on important letters and inquiries.
  5. Prepare reports and summaries for higher administration
  6. Coordinate and arrange dates and meetings of the higher administration.
  7. Follow up councils’ and committees’ works that the higher administration participates in.
  8. Follow up incoming mail for higher administration and arrange it before presenting it.



Tasks of Administrative Affairs Directorate

  1. Apply regulations and rules of Personnel affairs and follow up the selection and appointment of new employees as well as transfer, secondment and lending.
  2. Provide general administrative services including mail, communications, maintenance, cleaning, and transportation, continuously.
  3. Receive all income mail and document it, as well as registering outgoing mail and keep a copy in files after assigning serial numbers for it.
  4. Perform typing, duplicating and photocopying
  5. Keep copies of mail in its files.
  6. Provide the Ministry with required furniture and stationery
  7. Printing Ministry’s bulletins and papers



Tourist Studies and Investment Directorate

  1. Participate in preparing and follow up the implementation of specifications related to licensing and classifying tourist sites proposed for construction
  2. Offer consultation and information required by investors.
  3. Participate with concerned directorates in the Ministry and private sector to prepare and develop specifications and technical conditions for tourist constructions.
  4. Provide researchers and scholars with information
  5. Implement tourist committee’s decisions in terms of investment projects.
  6. Prepare and follow up appropriation Ministry’s lands in cooperation with concerned institutions.
  7. Prepare technical reports for the technical committee in order to take suitable decisions on determining the degree, kind and category of investment project to transfer it to classification committee for preliminary approval.
  8. Physical investigation on implemented tourist projects to assure its compliance with technical report through classification and licensing committee.
  9. Collect information and statistics on tourism to plan future tourism.
  10. Revise classification basis as well as specifications of professions and develop it.
  11. Encourage variation of investment to create economic and tourist integration.
  12. Study investment projects and economic feasibility for it.
  13. Prepare preliminary and applied studies for future planning and promotion of tourism.



Tasks of Internal Monitoring Directorate

  1. Supply the higher administration with detailed information and data about the performance of administrative system and the activities of the Ministry.
  2. Monitor the control of expenditure and public funds and direct it toward the proper channels.
  3. Follow up the implementation of rules and regulations as well as monitor the commitment of time.
  4. Evaluate and follow up work procedures and enhance occupational and vocational performance in accordance with rules and regulations.
  5. Assure the correctness and authenticity of records, documents and files.
  6. Monitor the enrolment of purchased, used and stored supplies.
  7. Participate in various committees’ works to assure its compliance with legislations.
  8. Evaluate administrative decisions and procedures to assure its compliance with regulations and rules.


Tasks of Foreign Relations

  1. Follow up the works of international tourist organizations, unions and bodies as well as study its agendas and documents.
  2. Prepare drafts for executive programs and drafts of tourist agreements as well as strengthening relations with agreement’s countries.
  3. Identify international, regional and local tourist mobility streams.
  4. Prepare for participation in local, regional and international conferences related to tourism.
  5. Participate in arranging meetings of tourist organizations and prepare a list of it as well as contact with all parties and Ministries to make it successful in cooperation with various departments in the Ministry.
  6. Get documents, information and data related to international tourism.
  7. Coordinate with concerned parties in terms of easy flow of tourism into the Kingdom.
  8. Follow up international tourism regulations, rules and policies.
  9. Archive agreements, tourist protocols, and international tourist organizations and bodies.
